May 2, 1960 – February 4, 2020

Yolanda Faye Houston was born May 2, 1960 in Galveston, Texas to Gloria and Mack Houston.

Yolanda was an alumnus of Abraham Lincoln High School Class of 1978. She went on to pursue a Phlebotomy Certificate so that she could have a better life for her and her three children. She then when on to pursue a career in the infectious disease department as an AIDS clinical researcher.

Outside of her profession, Yolanda had a love for her family.

She is survived by her three kids, Mark Jr., Scott, and Shawn Prater; three grandsons, Jaedin,
Gabriel, and Zaiden Prater.

On February 4, 2020, Yolanda was called home to glory.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gloria and Mack Houston.
