Trey Edward Thomas was born on May 6, 2003 to Charles E. Thomas, Jr. and
Kneco S. Walker in Beaumont, TX. Trey answered the call from his Heavenly
Father on June 11, 2020 at Memorial Herman Hospital in Pearland, TX. He was a
resident of Fresno, TX.
Trey attended public school in Beaumont (BISD) at Pietzsch MacArthur
Elementary, moving to Houston, TX. He continued his education in Houston ISD
at Attucks Middle School, then advanced to Sterling High School and went on to
Hightower High School in Fort Bend County ISD.
“Sports was Trey’s passion” as one coach stated. He was every coaches dream. He
was an outstanding athlete receiving numerous awards, such as; AAU All-
American Long Jump Champion, AAU-Triple Jump, High Hurdles, Low Hurdles,
State Bronze Finalist Long Jump (all of this in his sophomore year), All District
Football, 3-year Letterman. Quoting Coach Joseph Sam “Trey was an
accomplished wide-receiver, a gifted student who consistently made the Honor
Roll and took AP classes. He also was a gifted football player, but to him, Trey’s
character overlooked his athletic ability. He was truly a model student”.
Trey was preceded in death by his grandmother Analisa Nelson.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories to his father, Charles E. Thomas, Jr.,
Beaumont, TX; mother, Kneco S. Walker, Fresno, TX; brothers, Darius Allen
Bassett, Jr, Fresno, TX, Isaiah Thomas and David Ray, Jr, Beaumont, TX; sister,
Kaycie Thomas, Beaumont, TX; grandfather, George Nelson, Beaumont, TX;
grandmother, Esther Thomas, Beaumont, TX; aunt, Tasha Thomas, Katy, TX;
