Richard Lynn Moore

August 18, 1959 – April 22, 2020

Richard Lynn Moore was born August 18, 1959 to Colton and Annie Bell Moore in Beaumont, Texas.

Richard grew up in the Pear Orchard neighborhood of Beaumont, Texas. He attended Blanchette Elementary, and Odom Middle School where he started playing football.

Richard excelled there and went to Hebert High School where he joined the football team there. From then, he advanced and joined the varsity football team as defensive linebacker. As time passed, he excelled as a linebacker that being his favorite position.

In 1977, Richard and his teammates whom he loved dearly went on to state where they won the championship and he was selected as an All-State linebacker from the Golden Triangle. As a result of this honor and others he received a scholarship to attend Stephen F. Austin University.

Richard worked at Gulf States where then he went on and worked at Greater Good Hope Child Development center until his health began to fail him.

On April 22, 2020, Richard transitioned from earth to his heavenly home. Richard is proceeded in death by his father, Colton Moore and sister, Shirley Moore.

Memories are left to his mother, Annie Bell Moore; children: son, Holden D. Moore, Beaumont, Texas, Rokisha Thomas whom he loved as a daughter of Houston, Tx; siblings; David W. Moore (Elaine), Peggy Moore, Ronnie Moore (Marie), Lonnie Moore, Dennis Carl Moore, all of Beaumont Tx, Geraldine Ringo (Bennie) of Lake Charles, LA , and Helen Porch (Earnest) of Rowlett, TX; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
