Reverend (Rev.) Dr. Charles “Charlie” Luther Walker Jr., 84, of Beaumont, TX, passed-away on May 10, 2021, while in a Fort Worth, TX area hospital rehabilitating from a left leg amputation which occurred in March of 2021.

Rev. Dr. Walker was born on May 14, 1936 to Charlie Walker Sr. and Viola Walker in Doucette, TX. After graduating from Woodville High School, Woodville, TX, he began working various jobs before settling in Beaumont, TX to work for and retire from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.

Rev. Dr. Walker was a dedicated brother, husband, father, brother-in-law, uncle, “Man of the Cloth,” and general warm and helping presence in his community. He was a former semi-professional baseball player and an avid fisherman. He spent many tireless years coaching and officiating baseball and various other sports, and taking his wife, sons, and anyone else who was interested, fishing at any time, on any day, in any weather.

Rev. Dr. Walker is survived by his wife; Ora Dee Mary Walker of Beaumont, TX; two sons, Renaldo Charles and Reginald Lynn Walker of Fort Worth, TX, and their respective wives, Susanne Walker of Frankfurt, Germany and Tonia Walker of Fort Worth TX; Godson, Joseph Valry Frank of Navarre, FL; cousin, Anthony Wayne Joubert of Lake Charles, LA; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; his brother, Willie Walker of Red Oak, TX, and his sisters, Berline Walker, Edith Burton, and Millie Perry, of Houston, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Viola Walker; his sisters, Annie Moore and Christine Grant and his daughter, Glenda Faye Ridgeway of Beaumont, TX.
