Nick Loeb
August 19, 1958 – March 14, 2020
Nick L. Loeb was born on August 19, 1958 to the late Gerald Pratt Loeb and Selena Flanagan in
Beaumont, Texas.
Nick was a graduate of Beaumont Charlton Pollard High School class of 1976 and of
Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service in Houston, Texas.
Nick was a United States Army veteran. Anybody who knows Nick, knew without a doubt that
he was an avid die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan. He was a licensed funeral director and embalmer
with Comeaux Community Funeral Chapel in Beaumont and Gabriel Funeral Home in Port
Arthur. He also loved being in the funeral industry. Nick took great pride in his work as both a
funeral director and embalmer.
He was a charter member of Ark of the Covenant Baptist Church which he helped to build in
2002 until his passing under pastoral leadership of Dr. Helen Duriso Guillory. Nick became a
deacon at the church and was promoted to the Senior Deacon of the church.
On Saturday, March 14, 2020, Nick transitioned from this earthly life to his eternal rest at his
home with loved ones in Beaumont.
Precious memories are left to his wife, Cheryl “Cherry” Duriso Loeb; sons, Jonathan Griffin, Ivy
Duriso (Tamekka), Byron Gauthier (Ashley); daughters, Illema Griffing Brown (Kahl), Jessica
Loeb-Hayes and Krystal Loeb; mother, Delma Loeb; father-in-law, Gabriel F. Duriso, and
mother-in-law, Dr. Helen Guillory (Roosevelt) who treated him as a son; brothers, Darrell Loeb,
Kelvin Mitchell-Loeb, Gerald Hill (Melynda), and Avery Lamb; sisters, Yolanda Lang, Caesonia
Allen and Daphne Alexander; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, nephews and
nieces; other relatives and friends.
