Margerine Allen Bryant
March 10, 1925 – May 17, 2021
Margerine Allen Bryant was born to the union of Oscar and Lucille Allen on March 10, 1925, in Beaumont, Texas.
She was baptized at an early age at Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend O. B. Brent. She served in the Mission, Hospitality and other ministries in the Church where needed. She continued to serve faithfully under the leadership of Pastor Tommie Williams until she could not any longer due to her health. She is a 1942 graduate of Charlton-Pollard High School. She worked at the YWCA and retired from the Beaumont Independent School District.
Sister Bryant belonged to a special group called “The Golden Girls” Gladys Washington, Hazel Stewart, Lucille Knight, Daisy Boudreaux, and Lois Martin. They shopped, ate, and went to various places.
Sister Bryant later moved to Texas City, Texas to live with her son-in-law Fred and daughter Sharon Henry when her health was declining. While there she attended Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church under Pastor Dwayne K. Carpenter as much as her health allowed.
On Monday, May 17, 2021, God called her to her heavenly home to live in eternal peace. There she was reunited with her parents, Oscar and Lucille Allen; son, Donald Ray Solomon; brothers, J. D. Allen, M. H. Allen, Jack Allen, Henry Allen, and sister, Ethel Allen Thomas; uncles and aunts.
She will be cherished and missed by her caring and devoted daughter, Sharon Henry (late Fred D.), Texas City, Texas; son, Dr. Ronald A. Solomon, Sr., PhD, Santa Clara, California; six grandchildren, Ronald A. Solomon Jr. (Sophia) Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Bridgette Pete (Robert), Lake Charles, Louisiana, Byron Solomon, Houston, Texas, Fred D. Henry Jr.(Lizette) Alvin, Texas, Theresa Michele Simpson (Phillip), League City, Texas, Erika Nicole Parker, Texas City, Texas; ten great-grandchildren, Olivia Henry, Galveston, Texas, Phillip Jr. and Brooke Simpson, League City, Texas, Scott Parker Jr., Texas City, Texas, Hannah and Haleigh Pete, Lake Charles, Louisiana, Xavion Solomon, Houston, Texas, Alex, Daniel and Loren, Baton Rouge, Louisiana; niece, Claudette Gilford, Rockville, Maryland, niece JoAnn Comeaux, Beaumont, Texas, two lovely ladies in her life, Barbara Ann Solomon, Erma Solomon and host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
