Hilda Mae Malveaux
April 18, 1930 – March 14, 2021
Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace – 1 Peter 4:8-10.
Hilda Mae Pierre Malveaux affectionately known to her family as “Mommie” was born to the late Otis Pierre and Gertie McZeal Pierre on April 18, 1930. “Mommie” closed her eyes on the morning of March 14, 2021 and is now sleeping in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Hilda married Matthew Lee Murray and unto this union 2 sons were born: William “Butch” Murray and Joseph Phillip Murray Sr. She later met and married Adam Malveaux of Lake Charles, LA.
Hilda enjoyed baking, making homemade goodies for her family and praying. She referred to everyone as “Boo.” You could always find her laughing. She had a golden spirit often reminding others to always pray and to be kind. She will be remembered for her fighting spirit, kind heart and caring nature.
Hilda was a faithful member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Lake Charles, LA, the Gospel Choir, Legion of Mary, Christian Mothers and the Prayer Circle. As her health declined, she moved to Beaumont, TX with her granddaughter and became a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. During her stay at Blessed Sacrament, she joined the Ladies Auxiliary St. Martin de Porres Court 28. Hilda enjoyed her last years at Serenity Assisted Living where she loved listening to her gospel music and dancing to zydeco.
Holding on to her dear sweet memories and legacy of God’s unfailing love: her son, Joseph (Lizzie) Phillip Murray, Sr. of Lafayette, LA.; her daughter-in-law, Barbara Murray (William-deceased) of Houston, TX; six grandchildren, Andrenette (Gurvis) Chevis of Beaumont, TX, Joseph (Denico) Murray, Jr. of Washington, LA, Jonathan Murray of Charlotte, NC, Dejuana (Jamar) Chevalier of Rayne, LA, Sherissa (Harold) Thompson of Carencro, LA, Jarius (Roshella) Murray of Lafayette, LA, 24 great grandchildren, 13 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Welcoming her into the gates of heaven: her husband, Adam Malveaux; her parents, Otis and Gertie Pierre; and her son, William “Butch” Murray.
