Ello “Baby Sister” McClanahan

December 16, 1946 – August 20, 2020

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Ello “Baby Sister” McClanahan passed away peacefully on Friday, August 20, 2020 at her residence in Beaumont, Texas. She was 74.
Ella B, as her childhood friends knew her, was born and raised in Beaumont, Texas on December 16, 1946 to Mr. L.O. Redmon and Mrs. Rosa Bell Redmon. She attended Charlton Pollard High School. Ello worked at the Douglas Clinic/Hospital as a nurse for many years, serving to help the community. There are no words that can adequately express our gratitude for her dedication, service and compassion.

Ello met the love of her life, Donald James McClanahan in 1972 and they were married on November 28, 1975, and the two became one. Both Ello and Donald McClanahan are long time members of the Cathedral of Faith Baptist Church in Beaumont, Texas.

She enjoyed cooking and going to garage sales with her sister Norma. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Ello McClanahan leaves to cherish her memories: Donald James McClanahan, a devoted husband and best friend of 48 years; Sons: Todd A. Phillips and Byron K. Phillips Daughters: Jo Ann Stewart and Donna McClanahan; Sisters: Norma Jean Carey and Katy Parker; (8) grandchildren and (4) great-grandchildren; a host of much-loved in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
