Dr. Deborah Ann Collins-Sias

January 7, 1953 – December 4, 2020

Deborah Ann Collins was born to Theresa Collins on January 7, 1953 in Beaumont, Texas.  Deborah was raised by her late mother and stepfather, Marvin Flanagan. She attended schools in the Beaumont Independent School District and graduated in 1971 from Beaumont High School.

 Through years of dedication in the field of education she earned her master’s degree in 2003 and earned her Doctorate in Education in 2005.

 God call Dr. Sias to open a school to help at-risk students. Dr. Sias opened Solid Rock Christian Academy in 2007 with the help of several brothers’ and sisters in Christ and with God at the wheel. She knew this was her calling, since then there have been over 3,000 students who earn their high school diploma to this very day.

Dr. Deborah Collins-Sias passed away on Friday, December 4, 2020 at St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Memories of a life well lived are left to her children; Rufus “Chad” Collins (Katricia), Tara Thomas, and Holli Johnson; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a host of family and friends.
