Charles “Ricki” Ross

Charles Ricki Ross was the first-born of four children born to the late Charles Anthony and Ruth Ross in Beaumont, Texas on May 27, 1960.

Ricki as he was known to family and friends alike from an early age was reared in the South-end Community of Beaumont attending the neighborhood elementary and junior high schools.

While attending Beaumont Charlton Pollard High School, Ricki became popular as a football player as he honed his outstanding defensive skills on the football field. As a high school student health and fitness became his love and his life. Ricki graduated from Beaumont Charlton Pollard High School in 1978. Also, he spent his junior and senior year working as a DJ at Club Signature.

In January 1979 Ricki enlisted into the United States Army where he served two tours of duty as a “MP” Military Police officer.

After his honorable discharge from the military he pursued career paths into working in some compacity as a security officer and bodybuilding/fitness trainer. He worked in different plants and refineries as a security officer in the Beaumont, Baytown, Texas, and Houston, Texas.

After making Houston his home over 30 years ago and having an entrepreneurial spirit, Ricki started his own security company. He provided security for various night clubs in Houston and other entities. He also did security work with the Houston Police Department where he was referred to as “Ricki the Fitness Cop”.

He was a longtime member and fitness trainer at Golds Gym in Houston. He has traveled extensively competing in “Bodybuilding Shows and Competitions” all over the United States.

Due to injuries sustained in a tragic incident several months ago he succumbed to his injuries on February 16, 2020 in Houston.

Ricki left cherished memories to his children, Christina “Tina” Adams-Ross Hill (Calvin), Denzel A. Ross and Tristan Ross; grand-daughters, Zenobia, Makia and Aaliyah Hill; a special friend, Destiny R. Green; brother, John Ross; sisters, Nikki Ross-Pete and Loretta A. Ross; and also a host of nephews, nieces, family and friends.

Ricki was greatly loved, and he will be greatly missed and never ever forgotten.
