Charles was born in Pledger, Texas on January 18, 1939 to the late Alex Stone Sr. and
Lurline Jackson. At an early age, Charles was baptized at Grove Hill Baptist Church.
Charles retired from Huntsman Chemical. However, with a gift of talking he worked at
Sears in the large appliance department then at Mike Smith Honda. Stone was an avid
reader and had a great appreciation for teaching Sunday school and all sports.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alex Stone Sr. (Willie Mae), Lurline Amy (John);
sisters, Loreese Goode Mozelle Jackson, Joyce Hadden, Alice Delote; brothers, James,
Dorsey, Don, and Alex Stone Jr., and stepson Kevin Bennett.
Cherishing his memories wife of 47 years, Beverly S. Stone; daughter, Beverly Gayle
Stone; granddaughter, Tiffanie Jones; bonus granddaughter, Krystal Jackson; one aunt,
Leotis Hanchett; one brother, Odis Stone; five sisters, Emma Mack, Erma Jean Johnican,
Doris Robinson, Frances Brinkley (Jonas), Shiron Andrews, and a host of nieces, nephews
and many other relatives and friends.
