Alfred Wesley Jones Sr.
March 17, 1931 – June 7, 2020
Alfred “Cadilly Red” Wesley Jones, Sr. was born in Beaumont, Texas on March 17, 1931 to the late Walter Johnson and Polly Johnson. Alfred attended and graduated from Hebert High School in Beaumont. Alfred joined the U. S. Army where he worked as infantryman. He proudly served his country during the Korean War. He had the opportunity to travel worldwide. Alfred began at Mobil Oil as a merchant marine and worked his way to a trusted engineer before his retirement. He got his nickname “Cadilly Red” while working at the Cadillac dealership in Beaumont. Alfred worked in various church positions as well as served on the board at St. James AME Church. He was married to Carolyn Jones for over 50 years and was a father to three boys and two girls. Alfred was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Sydney Jones, and daughters, Wanda Johnson and Carolyn Y. Jones. He leaves memories to his sons, Alfred Jones, Jr. (Sharon), Arthur “AJ” Jones (Angela), and Tomiko Sydney, Sr. (Risha); fourteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and host of other relatives and friends. On the evening of Sunday, June 7, 2020 Alfred went from his earthly labor to begin his journey to his eternal home.
